Occtober 4, 2008 - Rayne, LAI had the honor of judging the Pretty In Pink pageant. This year's slogan for the Susan G. Komen Foundation is "Save The Tatas". Of course I had to offer my support and purchase one of their t-shirts. However, I never thought that when I wore it, I would have to explain the slogan to my 11 year old son. Here I was trying to take advantage of a teachable moment of a very serious situation and all he could do was giggle. The joys of motherhood!
These are the new ambassadors for breast cancer awareness from each age category in the Pretty In Pink Pageant.
The 3 ladies in the middle are all breast cancer survivors with the longest one being diagnosed 14 years ago!
Balloons were set free in honor of those with breast cancer.
Our prayers go out to all who face the battle of cancer.
